Motorcycles confiscated

On the morning of Wednesday the 16 of July 2014, Kingston police were conducting vehicle checks on the Southern Outlet at Kingston when 2 motorcycles were observed travelling towards Kingston at high speed.

Police were conducting speed checks at The Lea at 12:45 am when the motorcycles were detected travelling at 150 kilometres per hour.

Both motorcycles were immediately intercepted. The riders of the motorcycles, both men, were a 21 year old learner licence holder and an 18 year old provisional rider.

Both riders were limited to a maximum speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour. The motorcycles were seized on the spot by police for a minimum period of 28 days and the riders will be summonsed to appear in court.

Police remind motorists that traffic enforcement activities are routinely carried out at all locations of the state and any time. Motorists can expect to be proceeded against by police when detected offending, regardless of the time of day.
