Motorcycle Crash – Winnaleah

At or about 11:40am on Sunday 28 February 2016 on the Tasman Highway at Winnaleah a motorcycle with a 60 year old male rider and a 61 year old female pillion passenger crossed double white lines into the path of an oncoming utility. The motorcycle and riders collided with the side of the utility before entering the verge and hitting the embankment.

 

During the crash the rider and pillion sustained serious leg injuries and were flown to the Launceston General Hospital in the Tasmania Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter. The driver of the utility was shaken but uninjured.

 

Tasmania Police attended the scene and investigations are continuing.
