Motorcycle crash involving pedestrian – Bridgewater

A 24 year old pregnant woman from Bridgewater was knocked down by a motorcycle on the pedestrian path at the Jordan River Bridge on the East Derwent Highway, Bridgewater at around 8.55am on Tuesday 9 August 2016.

 

The rider came off the motorcycle and received minor injuries before riding away from the scene in the direction of Herdsmans Cove.

 

The woman was treated by ambulance at the scene and transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with minor injuries.

 

Attending police spoke with several witnesses who indicated that the motorcycle was a green trail bike with no registration plate being displayed.  The rider was described as being male who was wearing a hooded jumper and grey track pants.

 

Police are appealing to any witnesses to the crash, and to anyone who can provide specific information to establish the identity of the rider involved.
