Motorbike seized after exceeding the speed limit by 60km/h
Friday, 22 November 2024 - 7:11 pm.
An Ulverstone man has had his motorbike seized for a period of 28 days after being detected travelling 130km/h along Preservation Drive Sulphur creek, which is sign posted 70km/h.
Around 2:45pm, Police were conducting a traffic operation in the Sulphur Creek area and detected the bike rider travelling 130km/h in the 70km/h zone. Police also detected another motorbike travelling 147km/h in the same zone and are conducting further enquiries to identify the rider.
It is extremely disappointing that someone would have such a disregard for the safety of other road users and accept the risk that comes with such high speeds.
During this nicer weather, there is a high number of road users which include cyclist and pedestrians, and we implore everyone to obey speed signs and take responsibility for their part in keeping our roads safe.
Police urge members of the public to contact 131 444 if they witness any dangerous driving on Tasmanian streets. |
