Motor Vehicle Collision, Arthur Highway Sorell

On the 8th of March 2016 at 3:15pm police attended a motor vehicle collision on the Arthur Highway approximately 2 kilometres west of the Sorell Township.

 

It appears that a white 2005 Toyota utility being driven by a 59 year old male from Lewisham was travelling west when it has crossed onto the incorrect side of the road and collided with a Silver Subaru sedan travelling east that was being driven by an 82 year old female from Eaglehawk Neck. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

 

Both drivers were taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with the driver of the Hilux having no serious injuries and the driver of the Subaru being listed as serious but stable.

 

As a result of the crash the Arthur Highway was closed for a number of hours with traffic being diverted through Nugent and Delmore Roads.
