After locating a vehicle used by missing 46 year old Helen Russell of Sassafras at the Leven Canyon car park, Police and State Emergency Services personnel conducted an extensive search of that area during Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 September 2011.

Ms Russel was reported to police as missing on Monday evening.

In the afternoon of Thursday 15 September Ms Russell was located deceased, in bushland near Leven Canyon.

A preliminary investigation indicates the death of Ms Russell is not suspicious.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner in relation to the circumstances of the death.
