Tasmania Police were called about 8:00 pm on Sunday 26/4/15 to the report of a missing Japanese tourist who was last seen at the Cradle Mountain Lodge.

A 58 year old female was a member of a guided tour and was staying at the Cradle Mountain Lodge.  She was last seen by her room mate and had stated she was going for a run and expected to be back in 45 minutes.

Police activated the Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter about 9:00 pm which searched the area until the early hours of the morning.

The search  resumed this morning (Monday 27/4/15) with members of the State Emergency Service, Tasmania Police Search and Rescue as well as the Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter.

The helicopter located the woman alive and well shortly before 8am.
