At 1.45 pm, Saturday 29 October 2011, Tasmania Police located a vehicle owned by 63 year old Kevin James Cleaver of Howrah.  The vehicle was parked near Peron Dunes, situated at St Helens Point, near Akaroa.

An immediate ground and aerial search was undertaken.  The Tasmania Police, Westpac Rescue Helicopter subsequently located the body of Mr Cleaver in bushland several hundred metres from his vehicle.

St Helens Police in conjunction with Forensic Services and Northern C.I.B. personnel conducted a thorough examination of the area.  There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.  Tasmania Police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
