Police and SES personnel are currently undertaking a search in the Dial Range area for a missing bushwalker. 

The 30 year old local man commenced his walk at the Penguin Cradle Track, Gunns Plains at approximately 9.30am on Tuesday 19 April 2011.  He intended to complete his walk by about 1.30pm at the Foggs Flat Footbridge at Purton Flats. 

His wife, who had maintained mobile phone contact with him until approximately 5pm, notified Police at around 7pm that he was lost.  Police conducted a preliminary search and attempted to make contact with the walker via his mobile overnight, without success.  The search re-commenced this morning, 20 April 2011.

The man was well-equipped for a day walk with food, water and appropriate clothing and footwear.

Ground parties, quad bikes and the Search and Rescue helicopter are currently being utilised in the search for the bushwalker.
