Members of Tasmania Police have seized approximately 56grams (two ounces) of methylamphetamine, commonly known as ice in Devonport today. The drug was seized during routine checks of vehicles entering the state from the Spirit of Tasmania.

The ice would have had a street value of around $50,000.

One man has been arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance as a result of the seizure and will appear in the Supreme Court at a later date.
