Men Charged – Hobart Waterfront Disturbance
Three men have been charged by Detectives from Hobart CIB following a disturbance on the Hobart Waterfront in the early hours of Sunday morning, 21 September 2014.
A 19 year old man from Glenorchy, an 18 year old man from Moonah, and a 21 year old man from New Town have been charged with wounding and have been bailed with conditions to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
“A group of men were involved in an alcohol fuelled fight on the Hobart waterfront and as a result six men were hospitalised,” said Detective Acting Inspector Craig Joel.
“Uniform police initially responded to the disturbance and arrested 12 men. Some of the men sustained injuries consistent with being hit with a glass bottle,” he said.
“Investigations are continuing to identify the other men who were involved in the fight and more charges may follow.
“Investigators would like to thank those people who have already provided information to help identify the men involved,” he said.
“Police will step up patrols over the Grand Final weekend in and around the Waterfront areas,” said Acting Inspector Joel.
Anyone who might have seen the disturbance or who can provide information about the other men involved is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
