At approximately 9:30pm on Thursday 15 September 2011 Ambulance Tasmania tasked the Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter to attend Swansea. This was in relation to a 62 year old Swansea man suffering from a severe cardiac condition. The man was subsequently flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Immediately after this activation the helicopter was activated to attend to a serious motor vehicle crash at Orford. The helicopter landed at Triabunna and collected an 18 year old Triabunna woman who was injured in the crash and was suffering abdominal injuries. This woman was also from to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
