About midday today, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to medivac an 11 year old boy who had fallen and suffered head injuries whilst on a bushwalk on Mount Wellington.

A wilderness paramedic and police rescue crewman were winched into the scene before the boy was winched out and flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition.
