On Saturday 29 November 2014 at approximately 12.00pm the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Triabunna for a 30 year old male who was in a serious condition after a diving incident.

The male had been diving with a local dive club in the vicinity of Mistaken Cape which is located on the eastern side of Maria Island. The male had been at approximately 40 metres when the incident occurred. The male surfaced with the assistance of his Dive Buddy. CPR was conducted on the male once on the surface and he was transported by boat back to Triabunna where he was airlifted to the RHH.

He is in a serious but stable condition.
