Meander crash
At approximately 0945 am today, police were called to attend a single vehicle crash on Cheshunt Road, Meander, approximately 2.5km west of Brocks Road.
The crash occurred when the 29-year-old female driver lost control of her 1990 blue Holden Commodore station wagon, while travelling west, on the crest of a right bend.
The vehicle has slid out of control and collided with a tree on the southern side of the road. The vehicle has rolled against the tree, on impact, crushing the roof.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle, requiring State Emergency Service personnel to remove the roof, to allow Tas Ambulance personnel to treat and remove her.
The driver’s 4-year-old front seat passenger received minor injuries and was able to exit the vehicle.
The female driver, from the Western Creek area, was admitted to the Launceston General Hospital Intensive Care Unit, unconscious but in a stable condition.
The boy was released from the Launceston General Hospital after treatment.
The road was wet at the time of the crash.
