Man rescued from rocks at Dodges Ferry

A 21-year-old was rescued from the Dodges Ferry area yesterday afternoon.

The man contacted police about 4.30pm Friday after he became stranded on rocks due to high tide.

Local police responded, but were unable to access the man, and continued to communicate with him by phone.

Due to concerns for his safety, assistance was sought from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the Sea Rescue Dodges Ferry vessel.

The man was located approximately 500 metres from Carlton Beach.

The man was winched to safety and was not physically injured during the incident.
