Man fined for home quarantine breach
A 65 year old Southern Tasmania man has been fined $1,557 for failing to comply with home quarantine requirements.
The man, who arrived in Tasmania from New South Wales on Tuesday 12 October, was authorised for government hotel quarantine.
On Thursday 14 October he was assessed as being eligible for home quarantine, and upon the return of a negative Covid-19 test was transitioned to his home to complete his quarantine period.
On Tuesday 19 October police conducted a home quarantine compliance check on the man and found tradespeople at the location undertaking non-emergency works
The man was escorted back to a government quarantine facility by police where he will complete the remainder of his quarantine.
Meanwhile, the vast majority of Southern Tasmanians are continuing to do the right thing by abiding by the mask requirements. One person has been issued with a caution and two people issued with fines for failing to comply with the mask requirement yesterday.
