Man drowned at Hobart waterfront

At approximately 5:45 pm on Monday 9 May, an elderly male fell into the water at the intersection of Hunter Street and Davey Street Hobart, opposite the Grand Chancellor Hotel.  The male was later pronounced deceased at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Hobart Criminal Investigation Branch detectives are investigating the incident and are seeking any witnesses who may have seen the male immediately before his fall or at the time of him entering the water.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
