Man dies in single vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway, Cambridge
Sadly, a man has died after a single vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway, Cambridge at about 11.40pm last night.
Police and emergency services were advised of a Mitsubishi van that had crashed into a sign at the entry to the Tasmania Golf Course at Cambridge.
The car caught fire as a result of the crash and was extinguished by Tasmania Fire Service.
The driver, and sole occupant, a 45-year-old man from Oakdowns was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Inspector Gary Williams said “our thoughts are with the man’s family and his loved ones at this time.”
“This was an extremely confronting scene for the emergency service workers who attended, and support will be provided over the coming days.”
Anyone who has information about the crash or witnessed the Mitsubishi van driving on the Tasman Highway near the Tasmania Golf Club around the time of the crash, is asked contact police on 131 444 and quote ESCAD400-27052023.
