Launceston CIB has charged a 30-year-old man with wounding following an incident at the Mowbray Target Store on Monday afternoon.

The victim, who is known to the offender, received non-life threatening injuries to her neck, hands and stomach during the assault. Police will allege that a small knife was used in the assault.

The man will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court today at 11.30am.

Detectives are seeking the identity of a man who went to the assistance of the victim during the assault. The man should contact Launceston CIB on 131 444.
