A 44 year old Mowbray man has been charged in relation to a serious assault that occurred in Mowbray on Friday 21 April.

During the assault the male victim was struck several times to the head with a hammer and received serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The 44 year old man was charged with one count of causing Grievous Bodily Harm and he has been detained to appear in an out of hours sitting at the Launceston Magistrates Court on 25 April.
