Hobart Detectives have charged a 37 year old Rokeby man with several burglaries committed in the city area over recent times. The charges include the theft of approximately $50,000 worth of jewellery from Sidewalk Gallery at Salamanca on Tuesday night of this week.

Detective Inspector Peter Powell of Hobart CIB said that as a result of extensive investigations over the past few days, Detectives had searched a house at Rokeby earlier today and recovered a substantial amount of property stolen from various premises. Included among property recovered is some of the jewellery stolen on Tuesday night.

The man is expected to appear in the Hobart Magistrate’s Court later tonight.

Detectives are still looking for another man in relation to these crimes.
