Man Charged With Carjacking In Devonport On 5/9/16
A 30 year old Bridgewater man has been charged with attempted carjacking, attempted aggravated carjacking, aggravated carjacking, along with several other driving offences and assault.
The incidents commenced in the Devonport CBD around 4pm on Monday, 5 September 2016, and continued until the man was intercepted on the Bass Highway, east of Deloraine.
Any members of the public who may have seen a blue corolla sedan driving erratically along the Bass Highway at this time, in particular the eastern side of the Victoria Bridge and between the Transport Tasmania Truck Inspection Station west of Elizabeth Town and the township of Elizabeth Town; is urged to call Devonport CIB on 6478 4011 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police would like to reassure the community this was an isolated incident and no one was physically injured during the incident.
The man has been detained for court.
