Man charged with burglary and stealing offences in Police Point

Police yesterday charged a Police Point man with a number of burglary and stealing offences in the Police Point area.

Around 9pm last night, police apprehended the 42-year-old man in the Police Point Road area with a quantity of stolen property which police will allege was stolen from properties in the Police Point area earlier in the day.

He will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court on 13 March charged with:

  • Burglary
  • Aggravated Burglary
  • Stealing
  • Unlawful Possession of Property
  • Resist a Police Officer and
  • Use a Controlled Plant or its products.

“Police remind all members of the community to ensure they lock their properties and vehicles, especially when not in attendance,” said Inspector John Ward.

“Thieves are often opportunistic and I urge everyone to lock their belongings to prevent being a target of burglary.”
