On 27/01/2018 police charged a 32 year old male from Warrane with one count of unlawfully setting fire to vegetation.

The charge relates to a number of vegetation fires in the vicinity of the Tasman Highway at Warrane which were deliberately lit.

The male has been detained and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 28/01/2018.

Police remind the public that there is a total fire ban in place for Southern Tasmania on 28/01/2018.
