Man charged over series of significant Hobart home burglaries
A 41-year-old Glenorchy man has been charged over a series of significant home burglaries across greater Hobart over a six-month period.
First Class Constable Katie Swift said the charges were the result of an extensive operation by Hobart Criminal Investigation Branch.
“Police will allege the burglaries were committed between September 2022 and February 2023, with the stolen goods estimated to be worth about $340,000,” she said.
“The home burglaries occurred predominately during daylight hours, and were targeted at jewellery.”
“As a result of police investigations, a significant quantity of the stolen jewellery has been recovered and returned to the owners.”
“We would like to thank members of the community who provided valuable information to us, which greatly assisted the investigation.”
The man has been charged with several offences, including 30 counts of aggravated burglary.
He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in October.
