Man charged over Scamander firearms incident
A 40-year-old Scamander man has been charged over a firearms incident at a rural property on Monday night.
The man reportedly threatened people with a firearm while on private property at Upper Scamander, and police were called after the firearm was allegedly discharged.
No one was injured in the incident, and the people involved were known to each other.
The firearm allegedly used in the incident was seized by police, and the man has since been charged with firearms-related offences including Recklessly Discharge a Firearm, as well as Aggravated Burglary (Dwelling), and Aggravated Assault.
He was detained to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court today.
