A 21 year old French national has been charged with Assault a Police Officer under the Police Offences Act following an incident where a police officer was allegedly assaulted.

The police officer was allegedly assaulted while attending an incident at a local caravan park.

Police allege the man punched the police officer.

The police officer has a suspected broken nose and underwent a CT scan.

The man was remanded in custody and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today at 10am.
