A 32-year-old man has been charged with stealing with force, following an incident at a chemist in Devonport yesterday evening.

Police were called to the store after staff activated the hold-up alarm about 6pm, after reportedly being threatened by the man.

The man fled the scene and was located by police and arrested a short time later.

He will appear in court later today.
