Man charged over dangerous driving in north and north-west

A 43 year old Devonport man has been charged over a dangerous driving in the state’s north and north-west this week.

 

The man was arrested last night in Launceston and has today been charged with a large number of driving offences and crimes including:

  • 3 counts of evading police and disqualified driving
  • reckless driving
  • dangerous driving
  • a number of burglary and stealing matters
  • a carjacking in relation to the stolen car from Penguin on Wednesday.

 

The man will appear in Launceston Magistrates Court later today.

 

Detective Inspector Kim Steven of Devonport CIB said, “We would like to thank the many members of the public who assisted us by reporting sightings of the vehicle and suspect which allowed us to locate him and stop his dangerous conduct on the roads”.
