A 51-year-old Austins Ferry man has been charged with drug trafficking after a cannabis hydroponics set-up was uncovered following a fire at an Austins Ferry property overnight on Monday.

Police allege a cannabis hydroponic set up was discovered following a fire in a shed.

The man was charged with:

One count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substances

One count of Cultivating a Controlled Plant

One count of Possessing a Controlled Plant

One count of Possessing a Firearm without a Licence

The man was bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 26 June.
