Man Charged With Dangerous Driving: Bridgewater – Berriedale

Police today arrested a 21-year-old Bridgewater man following dangerous driving incidents between Bridgewater and Berriedale.

Enquiries were being conducted in relation an ongoing police investigation and the man was detected driving a motor vehicle and in order to avoid apprehension drove in a dangerous manner throughout the Bridgewater, Glenorchy and Berriedale areas.

“The man drove a white Ford Falcon, registration number FG6234, with contempt for other road users and pedestrians,” said Detective Sergeant Michael Foster.

“There were two incidents where the man drove directly into oncoming traffic along the Brooker Highway putting other motorists at continued risk of serious injury.”

“Police used road spikes to stop the vehicle in Berriedale and the driver was arrested and conveyed to Hobart Police Station for additional enquiries to be conducted.”

It is likely the man will appear before an after-hours court tonight where he will face a number of charges in relation to driving offences.
