Police investigations are continuing into an incident at Clarendon Vale on Hobart’s eastern shore today.

A 36 year old Clarendon Vale man who was located at the scene is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police were called to Clarendon Vale Primary School car park about 7.40am after a suspicious package was located in the car park.

Police reassure the community that there is no threat to members of the public, and the school was not a target. However, the school advised students not to attend until later this morning as a precaution.

Sgt Eloise Penney said that police specialists are in the process of examining the items as a precaution.

“We are following a particular line of enquiry in relation to this matter, however members of the public can be assured that there is no threat to public safety.”
