Man Arrested after Southern Crime Spree

During the early hours of Wednesday 10/6/15 a number of crimes were committed in the Hobart, Bellerive and Glenorchy area.

The crimes began with the burglary and attempted stealing of a Porsche and a Subaru in North Hobart. The offender then committed another burglary nearby and stole a Toyota Landcruiser.

The offender then drove the stolen Landcruiser to Cambridge where he entered a property and stole medication. The Landcruiser was driven back to Hobart where it was abandoned and a second vehicle, a SS Commodore utility, was stolen. The offender then stole a quantity of petrol from a nearby service station.

The Commodore later crashed near the Hobart Showgrounds and police attended and apprehended a 32 year old male from Hobart. The male was later charged with:

Burglary x 3

Stealing x 3

Attempted Motor Vehicle Stealing x 3

Motor Vehicle stealing x 2

Assault and resist police

Hinder conveyance

Exceed 0.05

Drive whilst disqualified.

The male was detained to appear in Hobart CPS on 11/6/15
