Today Hobart CIB Detectives charged a 25-year-old Montrose man and a 34-year-old West Moonah woman in relation to the assault of two men at the taxi rank in Castray Esplanade, Salamanca, in the early hours of Saturday, 30 November 2013.  The incident was captured on CCTV footage.

Charges were laid after images were released in December 2013 on the Police Facebook page and to the media.  Information was subsequently supplied by the community to Crime Stoppers.

The man and woman will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 17 February 2014.

Hobart CIB advises that one of the men assaulted received abrasions, bruising and swelling as a result of the assault.  It is not clear what injuries the other man received as he has not yet been identified and has not come forward.  He is asked to contact Hobart CIB on 6230 2603.
