The Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter was today tasked to attend Mt Wellington in the vicinity of Tom Thumb for a lost walker.

The 80 year old man was part of a large walking group when he left the track and became disorientated at approximately 11.00am. The walker activated his EPIRB which pin pointed police to his exact location.

The helicopter flew to the location and winched the male from the area. He was uninjured.
