At approximately 1:00pm on Saturday 25/10/14 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated to Lonnavale in the south of the state.

A 29 year old Lindisfarne man had sustained a serious leg injury resulting in a considerable loss of blood when he crashed his trail bike in state forest nearby.

The man was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition.
