Light Aircraft Crash at Devonport Airport

At 3:30pm Saturday 21 May 2016 a light aircraft crash landed at the Devonport airport after the pilot experienced mechanical difficulties. The 65 year old pilot, and sole occupant of the aircraft, was not injured as a result.

Police, Fire, Ambulance and Airport Operations staff attended the scene.

An inbound commercial airline flight was delayed while at-scene investigations and the clearing of the runway occurred. The airport was reopened at 5:30pm.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau were advised of the incident by Police.
