Launceston woman charged after ice, GBH seizures

A 23-year-old Launceston woman has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance after police seized 375 grams of methylamphetamine and 500ml of GHB during targeted searches.

Members of Western Drug and Firearm Unit conducted the searches at two Launceston premises on 19 July and 30 July, 2024.

As a result, the woman has since been charged with unlawfully importing a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance, possess a controlled drug, and other minor drug-related offences.

Police will also allege the woman attempted to board a flight interstate using false details, and she has subsequently been charged with a constitutional flight offence.

She was detained to appear in court yesterday, before being remanded to reappear in August.
