Launceston Safer Communities Partnership

Members of the Launceston Safer Communities Partnership (LSCP) have signed a new charter for the group this morning.

LSCP members work collaboratively to address community safety issues in the greater Launceston area.

“The signing of the charter is a strong reminder, that we all have a role to play in keeping our community safe and that no one person or organisation can deliver that outcome on its own,” said Inspector Michael Johnston.

“Launceston has recently been identified as the most family friendly city in Australia and we as a committee continue to work towards making Launceston safer and more friendly for our community and visitors alike,” he said.

The following are all represented within the partnership; Launceston City Council, Tasmania Police, Department of Education, Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources, the University of Tasmania, Cityprom, Migrant Resource Centre, Launceston Chamber of Commerce plus other not for profit organisations and government departments.
