At 3.54pm on Thursday the 14/6/12 three male remand prisoners at the Launceston Remand Centre, Cimitere Street, Launceston attempted to escape out onto the roof. 

Police with the aid of negotiators and Remand Centre staff apprehended all three escapees within a relatively short period of time. They were returned to the remand centre.

At no stage did they represent a danger to members of the public.

All three men will appear at the Launceston Magistrates Court on the 27/6/12.
