On Monday 2 December 2013 Launceston CIB charged a 21 year old Summerhill man in relation to the armed robbery of the Wellington Street Newsagency on 21 November 2013.

He was also charged in relation to the burglaries of 13 businesses and houses in Launceston, Evandale and Longford between 15 October 2013 and 1 December 2013.

Detective Senior Sergeant Jonathan Higgins said that the man was identified and linked to the burglaries and robbery after a lengthy investigation by members of Launceston CIB.

The 21 year old was remanded in custody and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at 4pm today.
