Launceston CBD Crash
A 52 year old West Launceston woman returned a breath analysis of 0.243 following a two vehicle crash in Launceston CBD at 10:09am this morning.
Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Wellington and York Streets following the crash in which the driver of a silver Subaru sedan entered the intersection on a red light and collided with a blue Utility travelling on York Street.
The woman driver of the Subaru was breath tested at the scene and returned a positive reading. She was subsequently conveyed to Launceston Police Headquarters where she submitted to a breath analysis.
She was arrested and charged for exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit for the driver of a motor vehicle.
The woman was further issued with an excessive drink driving notice disqualifying her from driving for a period of twenty four (24) months and will appear in court at a later date.
