Latrobe man charged with assault police
A 52-year-old Latrobe man has been charged with three counts of criminal code assault against police, resist police, and firearm and minor drug offences following an isolated incident in Fenton Street at Latrobe on Tuesday.
Police were called to a private residence in relation to concerns for the welfare of a person at the property.
Officers communicated with a man inside the residence for a short time before he was safely taken into custody and transported to the North West Regional Hospital for assessment.
There was no risk to the wider community, and nobody was physically injured during the incident.
The man was subsequently charged yesterday and detained to appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court today.
