Lake Myrtle rescue
An operation is underway to rescue a 48 year old Victorian bushwalker from Lake Meston.
The woman has broken her leg while on the Lake Myrtle Track. Her husband walked out to Mole Creek to raise the alarm.
An advance team of two Search and Rescue officers and a Paramedic are on the way, and a second group of 10 Search and Rescue, National Parks and SES volunteers are also preparing to walk in.
The Police Westpac Rescue helicopter is on standby but the weather in the area is too poor for it to be deployed, and weather conditions are not expected to improve.
The search and rescue party expect to reach the woman and stretcher her out tonight if possible.
