Investigation into death at Bothwell continuing
Police are investigating the death of a man in Bothwell this morning.
Inspector Mathew Adams said police and emergency services were called to a property at Highland Lakes Road about 4am, following a report of a self-inflicted firearm injury.
“First responders arrived to find a man in his 30s, who was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene,” he said.
“Preliminary inquiries determined some inconsistencies between the initial report to police and the evidence at the scene which is why police are continuing to investigate the circumstances to determine exactly what occurred.”
“Another man was taken into custody at the scene, and he is assisting police with the investigation.”
“Police including officers from CIB, Forensics and Uniform remain on the scene conducting examinations.”
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones.”
