Approximately 2.50pm today Tasmania Police were advised of a burglary in progress, when a resident of Green Valley Road, Bagdad, disturbed two people on their rural property.

As a result, a short time later Police located and took a female into custody at the scene. She is assisting police with their inquiries.

Police allege a co-offender stole two trail bikes and a Blue Nissan Pulsar registered number FB0682 from the house and that vehicle later evaded police on Green Valley Road and Hollow Tree Road.

The offender fled and following a short foot chase was taken into custody near an abandoned house adjacent to Hollow Tree Road. The man is now assisting police with their inquiries.

Police would like to speak to elderly couple in the Hyundai I30 sedan, which may be a hire car,and was last seen heading towards Bothwell.

Police have recovered one of the stolen trail bikes on Green Valley Road, and seek assistance from anyone in the area who may have observed trail bikes being ridden on Green Valley Road, between 2 and 3.30pm.

Police are also searching for a stolen Hyundai Excel Sedan, which is a faded maroon colour with registration plates EP4791. This vehicle was stolen 3 days ago, and police believe that it is in the vicinity of Green Valley Road, or Hollow Tree Road, and is also relevant to this matter.
