At about 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 2 April) a 30 year old Hobart man who was surfing off Greens Beach at Marrawah got into difficulty.

He was retrieved from the water by other people in the area and despite CPR being conducted by the members of the public and Ambulance personnel, he was not able to be revived.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.
