In response to media queries, Tasmania Police can confirm that police were called to attend a report of a disturbance at the Grand Poobah bar in Liverpool Street, Hobart, shortly after 4:00am this morning.

It was subsequently established that someone had deployed pepper spray within the premises before police arrival.

Police spoke to a 53 year old man at the scene and seized a used can of ‘Pfefferspray’ branded spray.

Advice was given to the venue in respect to treatment /cleaning of the affected area.
