Identity resolved
On the 7th of February 2012 Fraud & e-Crime detectives released a picture of an individual to the media to seek assistance identifying the man in connection with a fraud investigation. Pictures of the man were published the following day in The Mercury and other local media and an overwhelming response identifying the person, was immediately received.
As a consequence of subsequent enquiries, a 30-year-old New Town man was today charged with Stealing and 9 counts of Obtaining Goods by False Pretences. He has been bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 26 March 2012.
We would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in the matter.
